This guy has a pretty good video talking about the good and bad with out being biased.

As far as I am concerned it's not really a BF game, but that's nothing new as the last few iterations weren't either. I've poured quite a few hours into youtube and streams to try to figure out if I actually want to get the game. It kind of dawned on me last night that if I have to spend this much time convincing myself to get game... well thats a problem.

Right now it looks like it will just boil down to a mindless conquest game where you just run around and get kills instead of objectives. Basically 128 player team death match Rinse and repeat. Not much different than CoD multiplayer except I wouldn't have to worry about getting run over. They added the "skyrim" affect to BF so there are no assigned classes nor restrictions which further poses a problem with global teamwork and even independently among a squad. From what I can tell there is no way to identify another class so in terms of healing, ammo, AT, ect you must strictly rely upon yourself or your squad.

While we are talking about squads - yes that you might be able to run a pretty optimized squad since anyone can select anything. From a squad leaders point a view this freedom could be amazing or devolve into players selecting or rotating certain gadgets inbetween deaths which might end up creating a huge headache. Ultimately, even though the classless system to me is rather stupid, I understand the reasoning for the "watered-down" approach, it still might yield pretty awesome squad combinations. On the other hand, yes we can all create a sniper class, with medic bag, and an AT tank that we all always wanted...

Obviously we all know there will not be private servers and the glory days of a 6 man squads are all but gone but I think there is still some potential. You are almost required to rely upon your own squad more in this strange system rather than the greater team - which might be a good change of pace.
